Downtown Chicago Window Film: Loop, River North, Streeterville, West Loop and South Loop
Downtown work is mostly offices, retail and high-rise condos. In the Loop and West Loop, tenants call about glare on monitors and glass conference rooms that need frosting. In River North, galleries and showrooms want UV protection. In Streeterville and the South Loop, condo owners want to cool down unshaded towers without losing the lake or park view.
Almost every downtown job involves a building manager, a condo board or both. We plan around freight elevator bookings, insurance certificates and after-hours rules from the start, so the install day goes smoothly. We also handle the paperwork boards ask for, like product spec sheets and samples. Condo owners can forward their board forms to us.
Window Tinting Along the North Side Lakefront
From the Gold Coast and Old Town north through Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Edgewater and Rogers Park, the city runs in layers: lakefront towers facing east over the water, then older greystones, two-flats, courtyard buildings and cottages a few blocks inland. The towers deal with morning sun and glare off the lake. The inland blocks deal with privacy from the sidewalk, the L tracks or the building across the courtyard.
Several of these neighborhoods include Chicago landmark districts, like the Old Town Triangle and Astor Street. In those areas we steer toward clear and frosted interior films that leave the facade looking the way it should. Lakefront towers in those same neighborhoods usually need board approval before any film goes up.
Window Film for Northwest Side Neighborhoods: Wicker Park, Bucktown and Logan Square
The Northwest Side mixes retail corridors along Milwaukee Avenue and Damen with blocks of greystones, frame cottages and new single-family homes. The 606 trail runs between Wicker Park and Bucktown, and houses that back onto it are one of our most common privacy jobs. In Logan Square, the wide boulevards put greystone front rooms on full view.
Storefront work here centers on UV film for shop displays, security and anti-graffiti film for door glass, and solar film for cafes and restaurants that catch afternoon sun through the diagonal storefronts on Milwaukee. Corner storefronts with two or three exposed faces often end up with a different film on each side.
Andersonville and Ravenswood Window Film on the Mid-North Side
Andersonville's Clark Street is a strip of independent shops and restaurants, and its owners call us about faded displays and hot window tables. A short distance west, Ravenswood has houses, condos and converted factory lofts lined up along the Metra embankment, where privacy from passing trains is the top request.
Both neighborhoods also have plenty of brick two-flats and older single-family homes, where UV film for floors and low-e film for winter comfort are the usual residential jobs. Bungalows in the area also have leaded glass in the upper sash, which we leave alone. We treat the plain glass below it.

South Side Window Film: Pilsen, Bridgeport and Hyde Park
On the South Side, Pilsen's 18th Street storefronts need security and anti-graffiti film, and its garden apartments need privacy. Bridgeport's workers cottages, some sitting below street level, get frosted film at the front and low-e film for winter. In Hyde Park, owners of historic homes near the University of Chicago ask about UV film for libraries and art, and lakefront high-rise residents want heat and glare control.
We do not film leaded or art glass, which comes up often in Hyde Park and Kenwood houses. For those windows we talk through storm panels or treating only the plain glass. Each of these neighborhoods has its own page below with more detail on what people there ask for.

Chicago Window Film Service Area Questions
Do you install window film in Chicago neighborhoods not listed here?
Often, yes. The list covers the areas we work in most. Send your address with the quote request and we will tell you whether we can schedule your job.
Do you work outside the city limits?
We serve Evanston, just north of Rogers Park. For other suburbs, include your address in the quote form and we will let you know.
Is window film handled differently in Chicago landmark districts?
We use clear or frosted interior films that do not change how a historic facade looks, and we avoid mirrored products. Owners of designated buildings should check with the city's landmarks staff before installing anything visible from outside.
Can I get both home and storefront film from you in my neighborhood?
Yes. Every one of our 16 film services is offered in each area on this page. The neighborhood pages simply lead with the residential and commercial jobs we see most often there.
